The European Union approved a new drug to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men who have previously taken Viagra, the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) said on Sunday.
Viagra was approved by the EMEA on June 29 and will be sold by the German company Boehringer Ingelheim in the European market. The EMEA said that the medication is “a well-tolerated drug with high safety and efficacy.”
The agency said the approval will include a “comprehensive safety profile of the drug, including the potential side effects, drug interactions, and adverse reactions”.
The EMEA said that the approval will not include a “new formulation of the drug, which has not yet been approved by the FDA.”
“The approval will allow the EMEA to determine whether the new drug formulation is safe and effective in the treatment of men with erectile dysfunction,” the agency said. The EMEA said the drug “will be available to patients as an oral or injectable medication.”
An EMEA spokeswoman said: “The company is working with the US Food and Drug Administration to develop a more appropriate treatment for this condition.”
An EMEA spokeswoman said the agency was working with the US Food and Drug Administration to develop a treatment to treat erectile dysfunction.
The drug, which is currently marketed under the brand name Viagra, will be sold under the name Viagra-Sildenafil, which is the generic name of the brand-name drug Viagra. Viagra and its generic name, Sildenafil, have not been approved by the FDA for the treatment of ED.
The US FDA said the approval for the treatment of ED is expected to be more widespread and more available over the next several months, as it was in 2018.
The company said it would be testing a new drug in the US to treat the condition. It said it will carry out a full study to determine whether it works for men with ED.
Viagra, which is already available without a prescription, will be approved in the US in March of this year. It will be sold under the brand name Levitra, a drug that was originally developed as a remedy for erectile dysfunction.
Emedsa said it is working with a “special group of physicians to ensure that men with ED are able to receive treatment and improve their quality of life.”
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) said that the new drug will be available in the European market as a generic drug.
“We will continue to study how the new drug works and monitor the progress that is being made in the drug development and approval process,” said the EMEA in a statement. “The EMEA is working with the US FDA and the EMEA is working with our partners to provide more accurate information about the new drug’s safety and efficacy.
